FRANCE – E-Phy: New data fields in CSV table

As part of the monthly update of E-Phy open data, new data fields were added in the CSV files to answer users’ requests.

The following fields are now available: ‘second brand names’, ‘registration holder’, ‘trade type’’ and ‘range of uses’. In addition, authorised claims and active substances were added for each product.

As a reminder, the CSV table contains all the authorised plant protection products in France. It is organised by product and by use (one row per use and product). The table contains all the authorised and withdrawn uses for each product.

EUROPE: New update of SANCO 7525/VI/95 on comparability, extrapolation, group tolerances and data requirements for setting MRLs

Revision 10.2 of Guidance document SANCO 7525/VI/95 concerning residue trials was adopted by the European Commission on 23 September 2016 and became effective immediately.

This new revision applies to new applications but also to those applications where assessment was already carried out by a Member State under the previous version. In such cases EFSA should use the new version to make its assessment. Where applications are already advanced in the EFSA assessment procedure and use of the new guidance would delay the overall procedure, no retroactive amendments should be carried out. The same principles apply to the Art. 12 review process.

The update concerns Table 3 (recommended extrapolations) and Table 4 (Addendum to Table 3). Some mistakes/errors detected after the adoption of version 10.1 were corrected and some clarifications were made.

Amenity areas: French regulatory differences between professional and amateur products

Ecophyto II, laws for the future of agriculture,  and for the energetic transition and for biodiversity regrowth, placing on the market of PPPs, products used in amenity areas, separation of professional and amateur ranges of products, biocontrol… the regulatory framework is changing fast. How does it translate concretely in France for plant protection products for professional use but also for amateur use in terms of restriction of use, mode of application, packaging, labelling…?

Lynxee consulting has summarised in a poster the key elements to better understand the current regulations and their declination as two ranges of uses. The poster was presented during the 4th Conference on amenity uses and home & garden products organised by the French association for plant protection (AFPP) on 19-20 octobre 2016 in Toulouse.
