{"id":1768,"date":"2016-07-28T13:49:33","date_gmt":"2016-07-28T13:49:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lynxee.consulting\/en\/?p=1768"},"modified":"2016-08-06T13:52:43","modified_gmt":"2016-08-06T13:52:43","slug":"france-anses-published-a-report-on-agricultural-professional-exposure-to-pesticides","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lynxee.consulting\/en\/france-anses-published-a-report-on-agricultural-professional-exposure-to-pesticides\/","title":{"rendered":"FRANCE: ANSES published a report on agricultural professional exposure to pesticides"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Anses auto-seised itself on 20 July 2011 to carry out a collective expertise to &#8220;identify, assess and characterise the risk exposure of farm workers to pesticides in agriculture in order to propose target reduction actions and proportionate prevention measures&#8221;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Note that the term &#8220;pesticides&#8221; includes here plant protection products, biocides and veterinary medicines.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The expertise was organised around several areas of research:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hearings of stakeholder experts<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Review of the literature on the French situations<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Data from medical monitoring systems<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Case studies<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Agricultural statistics<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Scientific literature on foreign situations<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Exposure data and regulatory assessment<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ANSES published its report on 25 July 2016 and particularly recommends:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Continuing work at European level to harmonise and regularly develop <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a priori<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> exposure and risk assessment methods as part of the marketing authorisation procedures for substances whose examination may depend on different regulations, depending on their uses.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Continuing work to improve knowledge of the effectiveness of protective equipment, which must be compatible with the activity of people working in agriculture.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In an independent framework, strengthening advice and training actions for pesticide users, in particular on the hazards, risks and safety of use.
