{"id":5793,"date":"2022-08-23T08:51:54","date_gmt":"2022-08-23T08:51:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lynxee.consulting\/?p=5793"},"modified":"2023-01-26T15:26:23","modified_gmt":"2023-01-26T15:26:23","slug":"europe-efsa-data-collection-on-co-formulants-used-in-representative-plant-protection-product-formulations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lynxee.consulting\/en\/europe-efsa-data-collection-on-co-formulants-used-in-representative-plant-protection-product-formulations\/","title":{"rendered":"EUROPE &#8211; EFSA : Data collection on co-formulants used in representative plant protection product formulations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">EFSA collected data on <\/span><b>182 co\u2010formulants contained in representative plant protection product (PPP) formulations<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> as part of applications for approval or renewal of active substances assessed <\/span><b>between January 2019 and March 2022<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. The aim was to provide an overview of the available data and the main considerations for the assessment of co-formulants during the peer review process.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Data submitted on the identity and physico-chemical properties of the co\u2010formulants are frequently reported as required by Regulation (EU) 284\/2013. The data related to (eco)toxicological properties mainly refers to the safety data sheet of the individual co\u2010formulants and, if available, to registration dossiers under <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/EN\/TXT\/PDF\/?uri=CELEX:02006R1907-20220501&amp;from=EN\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Regulation (EC) 1907\/2006<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (REACH). The main comments raised during the evaluation of co-formulants refer to substance identification (SID) and composition, harmonisation of classification and labelling and hazard assessment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Noted that 53 % of the identified co\u2010formulants have been registered under REACH and about 80 % of the 53 % are registered for more than 1000 tonnes a year. Quantities for which registrants are required to submit the most complete data set under REACH. 23 % of the identified co\u2010formulants have been approved by EU legal frameworks other than REACH (biocide, food contact material, cosmetic, excipient or feed\/food additive).\u00a0 For the remaining percentage, a more limited range of toxicological information was available: EFSA will investigate whether these are exempted from registration under REACH.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">As a reminder, the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/EN\/TXT\/PDF\/?uri=CELEX:32021R0383&amp;from=EN\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Regulation (EU) 2021\/383<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> lists into Annex\u00a0 III\u00a0 to\u00a0 the\u00a0 Regulation 1107\/2009 the 144 co-formulants prohibited in PPP.
