{"id":6916,"date":"2023-11-30T03:23:22","date_gmt":"2023-11-30T03:23:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lynxee.consulting\/?p=6916"},"modified":"2023-12-01T03:28:03","modified_gmt":"2023-12-01T03:28:03","slug":"europe-com-update-of-the-analytical-guidance-document-for-residues","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lynxee.consulting\/en\/europe-com-update-of-the-analytical-guidance-document-for-residues\/","title":{"rendered":"EUROPE &#8211; COM: Update of the analytical guidance document for residues"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The European Commission has published on 22 November 2023 an <\/span><b>update of the guidance document<\/b> <b>SANTE\/11312\/2021<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> on analytical quality control and <\/span><b>method validation procedures for pesticide residues analysis in food and feed.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> This second version updates the initial version in force since 01 January 2022, which itself replaced SANTE 12682\/2019.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Main changes with respect to the previous version are:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Paragraph C3 on sample processing has been reworded to emphasise that preferably the whole laboratory sample should be comminuted.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Paragraph D15 has been rewritten to allow laboratories to carry out a confirmatory analysis in cases where the initial analysis does not provide unambiguous identification or does not meet the requirements of quantitative analysis, or in the case of analysis of unusual pesticide\/matrix combinations. If the MRL is numerically exceeded, a confirmatory analysis of another analytical test portion is required in case of potential legal actions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Paragraphs E12 and E14 have been rewritten to focus on the reporting and interpreting of the results with respect to measurement uncertainty.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In Appendix C, data regarding PT (proficiency testing)-derived bias results have been refreshed to support the example of the measurement uncertainty calculation in Approach 2.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In the glossary (Appendix F), the terms &#8220;analytical test portion&#8221; and &#8220;analytical test sample&#8221; are introduced; they correspond to the IUPAC (International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry) definitions. The terms &#8220;absolute recovery&#8221; and &#8220;apparent recovery&#8221; are also introduced.
