HSE (Health and Safety Executive) has developed <\/span>new guidance<\/span><\/a> on the efficacy data to be provided as part of an application for marketing authorization in Great Britain<\/strong> (GB).\u00a0<\/span>This concerns plant protection products (PPPs) containing active substances under approval or re-approval, for which the low-risk status<\/strong>, as defined in Article 47(1) of Regulation (EC) No <\/span>1107\/ 2009<\/span><\/a> (amended by Regulation (EU) No 2017\/1432<\/a>), was claimed.<\/span><\/p>\n

HSE will now accept submissions of reduced efficacy data for low-risk PPPs, ahead of the active substance achieving low-risk status in GB. This approach also allows submission of relevant existing reduced data packages<\/strong> submitted previously to other countries and may prevent an unnecessary number of trials being conducted (refer to <\/span>EPPO method 1\/296 (1) \u201cPrinciples of efficacy evaluation for low-risk plant protection products\u201d<\/span><\/a>).<\/span><\/p>\n

If the active substance is subsequently approved without meeting the low-risk criteria, a full efficacy dataset for the product will then be requested.<\/span><\/p>\n

This approach taken by the HSE encourages the provision of low risk PPPs in Britain.<\/span><\/p>\n
