4 October 2023FRANCE: Withdrawal of Adoxophyes orana granulovirus strain BV-0001, spiromesifen and Bacillus firmus I-1582-based products
23 October 2023Following the invalidation by the French Council of State (Decision of 3 May 2023; in French) of the Orders of 5 February 2021 and 31 January 2022 authorising for 120 days the use of sugar beet seeds coated with the neonicotinoids imidacloprid or thiamethoxam for the 2021 and 2022 campaigns, the Ministries of Agriculture and of Environnement released the Order of 29 September 2023 in order to restore the restriction concerning the following crops (including intermediate crops) that are allowed for farmers that used these sugar beet seeds treated during the 2021 and 2022 campaigns.
The list of possible succeeding crops provided for in the new Order remains identical to the one in the Order of 31 January 2022 (except a wording modification to clarify the possibility to use in N+2 and N+3, crops that were already allowed for the previous years).
The new Order re-introduces the possibility of sowing, planting or replanting any intermediate crops when flowering is avoided or when a destruction of the crops is performed before flowering.
The Order applies to plots not under a crop cycle on 7 October 2023.
