23 October 2019The Tax on Diffuse Pollution was set by the law for water and aquatic environments No.2006-1772. This tax aims at decreasing the contamination of aquatic environments by substances contained by plant protection products.
The list of substances concerned by the Tax on Diffuse Pollution is set by the Order of 22th Novembre 2010 and is updated every year in order to consider the evolution of substance classification.
The draft order updating the list of substances for 2020 has been published for public consultation from 11th to 31th October 2019.
In comparison to the list of 2019, the status of 16 substances is updated, 5 substances are withdrawn from the list since their new hazard statements do not enter in the Tax on Diffuse Pollution base, and 11 substances are added to the list. Among the newly entries, 8 are not approved anymore but they can be contained by products authorised for emergency use according to article 53 of Regulation (EC) No.1107/2009.
