28 October 2024The 22nd ATP (Adaptation to Technical Progress) of the CLP (regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008) was published on 30 September 2024 in the Official Journal of the European Union. It mainly takes into account the opinions of the Risk Assessment Committee (RAC) of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), issued between March and December 2022, on the proposals to add, update or delete harmonised classification and labelling of certain substances.
Thus, Part 3 of Annex VI of the CLP regulation has been amended with the addition of harmonised classification and labelling for 27 new substances and modifications for 16 substances. These include in particular the active substances benthiavalicarb-isopropyl, sulfur, glyphosate, S-metolachlor, dicamba, copper (specific surface area > 0.67 mm²/mg), pyraclostrobin and fenpropidin.
This regulation will apply from 1st May 2026. However, substances and mixtures may be classified, labelled and packaged in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 as amended by this Regulation from the date of entry into force of this Regulation, that is from 20th October 2024.
