
FRANCE – ANSES: Withdrawal of metribuzine-based products
28 May 2025The 23rd ATP (Adaptation to Technical Progress) of the CLP (Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008) was published on 20 June 2025 in the Official Journal of the European Union. It mainly takes into account the opinions of the Risk Assessment Committee (RAC) of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), issued between March and September 2023, on the proposals to add or update harmonised classification and labelling of certain substances.
Thus, Part 3 of Annex VI of the CLP regulation has been amended with the addition of harmonised classification and labelling for 22 new substances and modifications for 10 substances. These include in particular the active substances bixlozone, captan, Chrysanthemum cinerariaefolium extract, clopyralid, dinotefuran, folpet, pethoxamide and proquinazid.
This regulation will apply from 1st February 2027. However, substances and mixtures may be classified, labelled and packaged in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 as amended by this regulation from its date of entry into force, that is from 10th July 2025.
