FRANCE – ANSES: Update of the Note on National Data and Risk Assessment Requirements for Honey Bees and Other Pollinating Insects
16 February 2026The European Commission has launched a new phase of public consultation on its proposed regulation aimed at simplifying the EU legislation on food and feed safety.
The draft submitted for consultation is similar to the proposal adopted by the commission on December 16, 2025. For more details on the proposed measures, please refer to our previous article.
In addition to the draft Omnibus Regulation, which is open for comments during the public consultation phase, the Commission has also made its working document available. This document includes a presentation of the main issues identified, an analysis of the proposed measures and the specific problems addressed, the views of stakeholders and Member States, the objectives pursued, and an assessment of expected impacts, in particular the reduction of administrative burden and costs for food business operators and national administrations.
The eight-week feedback period will be extended every day until the proposed regulation is available in all EU languages.
All feedback received will be summarised by the European Commission and presented to the European Parliament and Council to inform the debate during the examination of the proposed regulation.
