EUROPE – COM : Public Consultation on the Work Programme for the Gradual Review of Safeners and Synergists

The European commission has launched a public consultation from 10 June to 8 July 2025 on a draft regulation to amend Regulation (EU) 2024/1487 as regards the adoption of the work programme for the gradual review of safeners and synergists already used in plant protection products (PPP), in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1107/2009.

The draft regulation amends Annex I of d Regulation (EU) 2024/1487 by listing the safeners and synergists included in the work programme for their gradual review and by designating for each of them a Rapporteur Member State (RMS) and a Co-Rapporteur Member State (Co-RMS). This list also specifies safeners and synergists for which an application for inclusion in the work programme, in accordance with Article 4(1) of Regulation (EU) 2024/1487), has not yet been submitted.

Interested parties are invited to submit comments on the draft documents via the dedicated consultation page.The adoption of the regulation by the Commission is planned for Q4 2025. The regulation shall enter into force on the twentieth day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.
