20 January 2024FRANCE: 2024 national memo on the sustainable management of resistance to fungicides in cereals
20 February 2024This memo has been written by experts from IFV (French institute on vine and wine), Anses, INRAE, CIVC (Interprofessional institute of Champagne wine), chambers of agriculture and DGAL. Its aim is to present the elements of preventive strategy against resistance development, to describe the 2023 general situation for the resistance of downy mildew, powdery mildew, grey mould and black rot of vine to the main families of authorised active substances, and finally to make recommendations with regard to these resistances with the aim of reducing and optimising fungicide treatments. National surveillance plans (DGAL, CIVC) and field data were used, among other things, to draft this memo.
The memo indicates that, with the exception of multi-site active substances whose intrinsic effectiveness is sufficient (metiram, folpel, copper, dithianon), all modes of action are now affected by resistance.
