A memo on the sustainable management of resistance to fungicides, insecticides and herbicides in sugar beet was published for the first time in April 2022.
The aim of this memo is to present an overview of the harmfulness of sugarbeet’s pests and diseases and their resistance to PPPs (plant protection products) used to control them. This memo also makes recommendations to limit the risks of resistance selection, maintain a satisfactory level of control and avoid unnecessary applications. Recommendations are based on the knowledge of population resistance status (emergence and frequency of the resistances, involved areas, potential efficacy loss) and on the knowledge of the mechanisms of resistance and resistant individuals(resistance level, cross-resistance spectrum…)
