EUROPE: Update of the guidance document on semiochemicals

In January 2024, the European Commission published an updated version of the guidance document SANTE/12815/2014 rev.11 on semiochemical active substances and plant protection products. The last version online was the initial version of May 2016.

The main updates concern:

• Presentation of different types of pheromones (Straight-Chained Lepidopteran Pheromones SCLPs, Straight Chain Arthropod Pheromones SCAPs, Other Chained Arthropod Pheromones OCAPs and Other Arthropods Pheromones OAPs), and lists of candidate substances for approval as active substances (Appendices I to III)
• Technical equivalence process, notably following renewal of SCLPs approval
• New non-retrievable dispenser: sprayable matrix

This guidance document applies immediately as there are no direct effects on regulatory processes.
