
OECD: New, updated and corrected Test Guidelines
28 June 2025On June 23, 2025, the European Commission published an update of the technical guidelines SANTE/2019/12752 (Appendix D), on data requirements for setting maximum residue levels, comparability of residue trials and extrapolation of residue data on products from plant and animal origin. The last version was published on 10 May 2023.
In this new Rev02 version, table 3 on recommended extrapolations and its addendum (table 4) have been updated. Indeed, certain extrapolations for sugar plants (category 09), the oilseeds group and the subgroups (c) cucurbits with inedible peel and (b) herbal infusions from leaves and herbs have been revised. It is important to note that the number of trials suggested in table 3 is indicative and that in the cases of discrepancy between table 3 and table 2 on the number of trials required, table 2 should prevail. Furthermore, the varieties of lettuce with open and closed leaves have been described in greater detail.
