EUROPE: Adoption of the EFSA/ECHA Guidance on the Impact of Water Treatment Processes on Residues in Drinking Water

The new EFSA/ECHA guidance document released in 2023 (EFSA Journal 2023;21(8):8194) has been adopted by the Standing Committee for Plants, Animals, Food and Feed (SCoPAFF).

An implementation schedule has been agreed by Member States. The guidance document will apply to:

Active substance dossiers (for an approval or a renewal) submitted on or after 1st April 2026;
Plant protection product (PPP) dossiers (for an authorisation or a renewal) when PPP contain active substance(s) which have been assessed in accordance with the new guidance document and where a decision has been finalised.
