EUROPE–EFSA: Revised Guidance on Birds and Mammals Finalised

EFSA released the final version of the revised guidance document on risk assessment for birds and mammals and the related supporting documents.

Unlike the previous version, the calculator associated with this new guidance document is an online tool. The tool is available via the EFSA R4EU platform. To date, the tool is in version 2.0.1, corresponding, according to the platform, to a “beta version to which further amendments and bug fixes will be made in the following months”.

This guidance document provides clarifications and modifications to the different risk assessment levels, from Tier 1 to 3, and to the different routes of exposure considered. The Summary section provides a brief outlook of these changes.
