EUROPE: New draft regulation on labelling requirements for plant protection products

The European Commission has published a new initiative, which aims to amend Commission Regulation (EU) No 547/2011 to further harmonise labelling requirements for plant protection products (PPP), and to improve risk communication to end users of these products.

This draft includes several major changes for PPP labels, notably digital labels, a mandatory coloured scheme with 5 categories and a specific pictogram regarding potential hazard to bees.

The draft act is open for feedback since 6 January and until 3 February 2025.
