FRANCE: Anses modifies captan-based products authorisations

As a result of the entry into force of Regulation (EU) 2024/2186 of 3 September 2024 concerning the renewal of approval of the active substance captan, authorisations and parallel trade permits for plant protection products containing this substance have been modified by Anses, from 01/11/2024.

Regulation (EU) 2024/2186 provides for, as mitigation measures, the exclusion of  application during crop flowering periods and in the presence of flowering weeds in the rows of treated crops.

In addition, applications in orchards must be carried out only with equipment that enhances the precision and accuracy of the application and which, while maintaining the same application rate on the target surfaces, allows a reduction of at least 61% on average of the quantity of product applied per hectare and of at least 20% of the loss to the ground, compared to applications carried out using conventional equipment and application practices.
