22 March 2024EUROPE: Adoption of the EFSA/ECHA Guidance on the Impact of Water Treatment Processes on Residues in Drinking Water
29 March 2024New guidelines have been prepared in the frame of the Southern Member States Steering Committee (SMS SC) and Interzonal Steering Committee (IZ SC) in order to provide further guidance to applicants on how to prepare Zonal and Interzonal dossiers for Plant Protection Product (PPP) that are intended on crops grown under protective structures. It provides an overview of the assessments that are required for toxicology, efficacy, residues, environmental fate and behaviour, and ecotoxicology sections depending on the type of protective structures.
The decision table for the Interzonal assessment concerns closed buildings and warehouses and professional greenhouses and was agreed on by all Member States. An ‘interim’ working document was also released to provide further details on the requirements for the environmental fate and behaviour section.
The decision table for the Southern Zone provides refined requirements for professional greenhouses that are accepted by the Member States of this Zone and details the requirements for walk-in tunnels and open protective structures. It updates the previous document that was released in September 2021 by the SMS SC.
The implementation date was set for 1st September 2024.
